Sparkle Skirt

** Check out my Linky Party on Tuesday!
http://itssewforyou.blogspot.com/2011/02/its-sew-fun-tuesday.html

Who doen't love a sparkly skirt? This circle skirt tutorial is so easy and fun thanks to the math that MADE made easy for us!

Next up I want to make one for myself, and even have the fabric purchased and ready to go :) For some reason sewing for me always hits the back burner though!

I use the string method to make my circle

Minor changes I made: I sewed in a lining, the sequins fabric was a bit see-through! So I used a matching purple cotton to line it.

I sewed right sides together, then flipped it and sewed along the edge to keep it properly lined up

I sewed the elastic so that it would be on the top of the skirt. This was the hardest part to keep lined up for me! (Next time I may try sewing it so that I sew the elastic to the inside of the skirt then flip it up.)

my spunky girl :)

  1. Gorgeous skirt! I like anything that sparkles! I discovered circle skirts last year when one of my daughters started dancing! I love how easy they are - think I need to make myself a sparkly one - but I don't think I'd dare wear it out in public at my age! Would it be excessive to make one to do the housework in??

I would love if you came over and linked this project to my weekly Round Tuit party at:
