Pleated Ruffle Butt Onesie

I love ruffles, I love pleats, I was too lazy to "ruffle" properly, and so we have the Pleated Ruffle Butt Onesie!

Very simple, very fast, VERY cute :)
I used a 3-6 month onesie

1. Cut 3 strips that are approximately 3" by 19" long and iron each strip in half
2. To avoid extra seams to sew through/hid, I went the route of extra ironing. Fold in each edge about a 1/4" and iron flat in half again.

Now, to skip "ruffling" and give it a more pleated look, follow these instructions!
3. place the bottom ruffle in line with the top of the leg opening and pin in the center
4. Pin both edges where you want the ruffle to end
5. Pin the middle of each side
6. keep pinning the middle of the bubbles until it is as pleated as you would like it to be
7. No sew a quarter inch from the top. I sewed mine messy so it wasn't a smooth pleat, but more of a cross with ruffles.

8. Do the same with the top 2 ruffles, placing them so the bottom of the ruffle falls just on top of the sew line of the previous ruffle.

Enjoy your cutie in the ruffle. Throw it under a dress so that when it flips up she's adorable!

Yummy Blanket Cupcakes

It's the first day of summer for my kiddo's, and I'm SO not ready!  They were only in preschool, but still, I liked my few hours to get some things done, and to cuddle with the Baby. :)  Today my Dolly is begging to go outside, but it is not nice out, and so it all begins!

Now, on to the Yummy Blanket Cupcakes!

These are so fun, and so cute!

Start with a receiving blanket for each cupcake.

I made mine, also simple! I took a yard of flannel, squared it up, and then used an overedge on the edges!

I didn't take many pictures, but you get the idea :)

I used about 8-10 coffee filters for each cupcake.
I cut the bottom out of 4-5 and slid those of the cupcake, then slid the other 4-5 on the bottom.
Use a rubberband to hold in place
Cut some cute ribbon to cover the rubber band, hot gluing in place!

To top them:

1. I just rolled the blanket a little crooked so it would swoop up
2. I added a pacifier clip that I made
3. I added a flower headband that I made!

I bought a cake box from the store to place them

Tie closed with a ribbon and give as an adorable baby shower gift!

Scappy Doll

& Linky Party!

I've been a little scrapped for time lately...so my posts have been a lot less lately! We are trying to sell our house {cleaning for showings are a nightmare with 3 kids home all day!}, I've decided to run a 10k this weekend {totally not a runner and only running 1-2 miles right now - oops!}, and then trying to have fun sewing...so blogging has hit a back burner.

This week to try to simplify my life, I've added Its Sew Fun Tuesday to the bottom of this link. Please scroll down, check out the doll and add a link!!

Scrappy Doll
My daughter is finally acting like a girl instead of a tomboy in a dress and starting to play with dolls :)  So for Easter I thought it would be so fun to add a doll to her Easter {bag} basket!

I was eyeing this Black Apple Doll at Martha Stewart, thinking it was adorable!

I printed and cut the pattern and started to go...the legs were TINY! So I decided I must have missed adding a seam allowance :)  I then retraced the legs and arms adding seam allowances, but left the body and head at the size they were as I liked those!

I, of course, had to put my own spin on her look :) I liked the no face look, although my daughter thought it was silly! And I added a removable skirt :)

Here she is without her skirt!

Now, add some links to my weekly party! I can't wait to check them out :)

Snicker Salad

My son's FAVORITE salad is Snicker Salad, my daughter doesn't like it because she doesn't like snickers....seriously, who doesn't like snickers?!?!

Snicker Salad

1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 c. milk
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
3 regular size Snicker bars (I prefer to use bite size bars as its less cutting!) - cut into bite size pieces.
3 apples - cut into bite size pieces
Mix Pudding and Milk well, fold in whip cream. Add cut up apples and snickers. Enjoy!
Best served that day. Can serve 1-2 days later, however it does start to get a little runny.

Details on the Easter Outfits...

I know, I know...Easter was 2 weeks ago, I'm just NOW posting about the outfits? Well, not exactly, if you remember, I posted this picture before Easter :)
If you recall, I tried to get my Buddy to wear a bowtie...I failed miserably. However, he did LOVE his tie!

Isn't he handsome?  Love him :)  I used a tie pattern from Lil Blue Boo...love her, but beware, there is hand sewing involved in the tie!!! It turned out great, didn't it? :)

Other Tie Options:
Wanna be Crafty also has a "real" tie for boys.
See Kate Sew has an adorable Skinny Tie!

For my Dolly I used the Twirly Ballerina Skirt because I love it so much :)
I added with it an embroidered shirt, she got to choose what she wanted on it!

and last, but not least...my Baby got a new, complimentary dress too! For my Baby I used the Charlotte Dress from Craftiness is Optional.

Super easy pattern and great details to follow! I've never done a zipper and she made it SO easy! My only change would be that I'd sew on the bottom trim AFTER sewing the edges together so that you don't see the seam, but minor details I doubt anyone other than me noticed :)

LOVE them!
