Projects I love

Here we go with another list of projects I want to make!!

I have been wanting tags for my blankets, and I came across this post today that showed simple and adorable tags I can use to put on my items!! Gabriel's Good Tidings showed two great options.

First are these on grosgrain ribbon that can be sewn on anything!

Or another option is these, that are perfect to add to blankets! I think I'll have to buy the supplies and try a batch myself!

We have a tendency to move around a lot, we are on our 3rd new home in our same town in 6 years! So I love the idea of a growth chart we can bring with us. Paisley Passions made this adorable one!

How cute is this volkswagon bus quilt over at Dirt Cheap Decor?

Button

I now have a button for if you are featured on Its Sew For You!!  I hope to feature several of my favorite future projects every week, and you can feel free to grab a button. I have tested and tested and I got it to work, woo-hoo!

I did a Bing search and came across Jenieshell's Design and an ehow article that finally helped me get it right. Not sure why I couldn't get either set of directions to work perfectly on it's own, but now I have it! Let me know if you need assistance and I can copy out my code!

In the meantime, grab my button if I feature you on my Favorite Future Projects lists!!

After the holiday

We spent 5 nights back in the hometown...but it felt like much less, how did it go by so quickly?

Well it started with the present above not liking sleeping away from home! She was up several times a night (normally only once a night at home!) Then mama got sick Christmas Eve, which didn't help things...

Here are the kiddo's with their cousin, aren't they all so cute! They are anxiously awaiting presents :)

My happy 2 month old!

My adorable 3 year old, don't you love her shirt? I made it for her, and she hates it! HA! She is already starting the attitude that because I made it and like it, she won't wear it!

this was what our 5 year old looked like all day after receiving his leapster...
This was the van (yes...I drive a van!). There was just barely enough space to look out the top! we had the double portion of the back bench folded down, leaving up just a single seat for our 5 year old's booster seat...then we packed around him, so he was stuck in there until we got back home! HA! I think we need to have a talk with the grandparents and aunts and uncles about spoiling them...

Merry Christmas

And it is time to let the fesitivies begin!

I'm hoping to keep our kids healthy, both of the older two were sick over the weekend, that left D with a goofy smile in the Santa picture. She was fine all day until standing in line to see him, she got tired and said her tummy hurt. We've never seen her whine like that, but at least she got a picture! Later that night she was fine again, so not sure what her deal was :)
Isn't Santa cute!

And Christmas Day we have an ugly sweater contest. Here are the shirts my husband and I made!

Merry Christmas!!

Projects I love - Christmas Edition

This week there were so many great Christmas items out to look at and daydream about! Here are a few that I want to think about creating for next year being it's too late for me this year!!

First off, here are some adorable and easy ruffled stockings from Rae Gun Ramblings

If I hadn't made family stockings already, I totally would have created these for us! Below are an example of two stockings that I made and sold last year! This December my to do list has included making a stocking for Baby B...but unfortunately for her, it hasn't happened yet! Maybe next year I'll bring my set of stockings up to 5!

How about a use for that old sweater you were thinking of donating to the thrift store?  These sweater Christmas trees are adorable and chic. Find a great and easy tutorial for them at Crafts and Sutch.

How delicious do these snowflake pretzels look? I want to eat about 20 of them right now! If only my daughter would eat pretzels, then I could have an excuse to whip up a quick batch before Christmas...on second thought, maybe I'll make some just for me! There is an easy tutorial on how to make them at Mom Endeavors

Crafts by Amanda made these adorable Santa's Belly cups. What a great center piece!! So cute!

And the last Christmas-y craft I loved this week was Snowflake Soap. Such a great gift for all those parties you are going to, coworkers, or teachers for your kids! Cute and has a purpose :)  Check it out at Suzys Artsy Craftsy Sitcom

Merry Christmas

Robots - oh my!

For a recent baby gift I found this adorable robot flannel that I just had to use! I happened to have a robot applique that complimented the fabric perfectly, I was so excited!
i started by making a personalized bib

Then added the coordinating fabric to the back

love the complimentary robot applique from Planet Applique!

I also made this super cuddly blanket.

Baseball Cupcakes...

Yum, yum, for my son's 5th birthday, he wanted a baseball party! So this is a little flashback to the cupcakes I made for him a few months ago!

Yum, these make me hungry just looking at them again!

Blow out the candles!!
Time for the pinata. Anyone else love the masculine pink bat for a little boy's party?

My kids love the MN Twins, and my daughter thinks she is "one of the boys"!!

And a baseball party wouldn't be complete with a game of baseball outside!

Projects I love

I love going to linky parties and finding great projects to make, now if I only I could find the time to make them, too!  Here are a few past favorites of mine, next week I'll try to update with a few favorites of mine from the week!!!

I love these bags! I've made some fabric bags in the past that fold up into a pocket, but these are so cute, easy to roll, and are great materials, makes me want to make more! I'm awful at remembering my bags, but maybe I would be better with these gorgeous ones:

Who doesn't love a good scarf? They make any and every outfit look polished and put together. All the ones I have right now are solid color and simple, I saw this ruffle one and fell in love!

One more project on my to do list for the week. My son LOVES Tic-Tac-Toe...how adorable is this felt set, and so perfect for traveling and taking with you places! We go through lots of paper in our house drawing boards out :)

Now, does anyone know how to invent a time machine so I can have enough time to make them?? :)

She's 3!!

This summer my middle child turned THREE! so I of course had to make her a shirt. It started looking like this:

My sister thought it needed some sparkle, and it ended up looking like this:

Maybe some day I'll take the time to make some more samples and add these to my shop :)

About Me!

Once upon a time I worked in the business banking department for a small bank in town. It was a great company to work for, but a time came when I felt I couldn't be the mom I wanted to be. My wonderful husband supported me as I decided to change positions and work part-time from home so that I could spend more time with the kiddo's.

A week after starting part-time, we found out I was pregnant with kiddo #3! Timing couldn't have been more perfect! Shortly before #3 was to arrive, we were researching part-time daycare options and realized that part-time infant daycare was non-existant or hard to find/get into...so we decided I would become a full time stay at home mom! This is when I decided to pursue my love of sewing more!

While at home I've loved cruising various blogs and learning about photography, crafts, and sewing! While I'll never be a photographer, it's fun to look at others gorgeous photos! My list of projects I want to make/sew continues to grow weekly, hopefully I'll find time soon to get to ghem, HA!

Below is a pic of me with the kiddo's...we had an ugly sweater party to go to and decided to make matching shirts :)

my kiddos:
This is my "Buddy" he is 5 years old and a huge helper around the house! He is my handsome guy who is very detail oriented, loves legos, and talks too much! He is very into sports and so far is in gymnastics, soccer, and hockey!
This is my "Dolly" she is a spitfire of a 3 year old. She loves gymnastics and wants to dance. She also loves anything her brother does, meaning she talks about wanting to play soccer and hockey! She is a constant source of entertainment, and loves her new sister dearly. I have to laugh about her, I have a special name book that I had gotten for kiddo #1, but forgot to look at with her because we already knew what name we wanted. Well, when she was about 1 I pulled it out to see what her name meant. I had to laugh as the description was "challenging". We found it quite ironic as for the past year we had been calling her our challenge, and now we had proof! She continues to be a challenge, but that is what makes her, her :)
This is my "baby". I wonder if I should call her something else, but she will probably always be the baby of the family, so it works! She is currently 3 months old and is perfect! My special namebook said her name means "sweetheart" - we'll take it! So far she is living up to her name :)
