Hoo are You?

Over at Night Owl Crafting she is doing a "Hoo are you?" Series and I thought it might be fun to join in, so here are the questions and my answers!

1. Did you make any New Year's Revolutions?

I did and they are posted here!

2. What are some goals you have for 2011?

Part of #1 :)

3. What is something that you got for Christmas?

My husband and I got a video camera to catch the fun moments with our kids! I also got lots of stuff for the kitchen that I needed/wanted!!

4. Did you see any good movies over the holiday season? 

Who has time for movies? But I did watch some "Alaska Gold Rush" while nursing the babe :)

5. Do you do your own taxes or have someone do them for you?

I have in the past but the past two years we've taken them in "just to be sure" they are right...and yes, mine was!

Dragonfly Bib

I made this sweet baby bib for a baby gift for one of our friends.

 I thought there was going to be some pink in the dragonfly, guess I didn't look close enough at how many fabrics were being used - oops! But I still think it's cute, just in a more understated way.

 the back is this fun flower polka dot cotton, I love the colors in it so much!



Meal Plan 1

So, you may wonder, why am I posting my meal plans on here? Well, it is so that I can hold my self accountable to plan ahead, otherwise we end up eating frozen pizza or chicken nuggets! The kids and I are picky eaters, so these meals are by no means "gourmet"!!

and so, let the challenge begin!

Monday: Turkey Tetrazinni
Tuesday: Pizza Grilled Cheese
Wednesday: Slow cooker chicken & vegetable pot pie
Thursday: Cheesey Chicken noodle casserole
Friday: stovetop easy turkey bake
Saturday-Sunday: my wonderful hubby is on his own (no, I don't make a meal plan for him!!)

Baby Doll Clothes

For Christmas, I made my dolly some doll clothes from a doll clothes tutorial found at Blueberry Moon 

 the simple and fun dress is reversible!

My doll has an American Girl Baby, and the dress was a bit small for her, but it was still cute.

I also followed her tutorial for making diapers! This way my dolly would stop taking the baby's diapers for her dolly!

On one of them I added ruffles to the bottom, as those are my favorite :)

To ring in the new year instead of resolutions that I never keep I'm setting goals!

1. To focus on my etsy business
2. To make better home cooked meals!
3. To be more patient with my kiddo's :)
4. To lose those last 10 pregnancy pounds
5. To run a 10K this spring (the most I've ever run before is a 5K, and that was over 5 years ago!)
6. To watch our unnecessary spending

To start this all off, my house is focusing on January to see if we can avoid spending any unnecessary money!

To assist in the menu planning, I'm going to try to put myself out there, and post our menus each week! Please note, we are a picky eating family, so meals get pretty boring! HA!

Projects I love

Here we go with another list of projects I want to make!!

I have been wanting tags for my blankets, and I came across this post today that showed simple and adorable tags I can use to put on my items!! Gabriel's Good Tidings showed two great options.

First are these on grosgrain ribbon that can be sewn on anything!

Or another option is these, that are perfect to add to blankets! I think I'll have to buy the supplies and try a batch myself!



We have a tendency to move around a lot, we are on our 3rd new home in our same town in 6 years! So I love the idea of a growth chart we can bring with us. Paisley Passions made this adorable one!

I now have a button for if you are featured on Its Sew For You!!  I hope to feature several of my favorite future projects every week, and you can feel free to grab a button. I have tested and tested and I got it to work, woo-hoo!

I did a Bing search and came across Jenieshell's Design and an ehow article that finally helped me get it right. Not sure why I couldn't get either set of directions to work perfectly on it's own, but now I have it! Let me know if you need assistance and I can copy out my code!
